My Bluetooth connection between my Samsung phone ans watch keep dropping, preventing me from using my music control. Each time I go into settings on the watch and select Bluetooth, Manage connections, restore music controls, Pair and the watch connects again for a short period, before it disconnects again shortly afterwards.
I have gone through various resets modes and can't keep doing this all the time.
Any Help would be very much appreciated.

I had this problem for a long time. Changed my phone from S7 to S9- still had the problem. I just installed an app onto my phone that helps keep bluetooth devices paired- it is called Bluetooth pair. 5 days without a restart, or reinstall of my Ionic. So far so good. Maybe this or similar app on your phone will help.

@Hamster3121 Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.
It's pretty weird that your Ionic doesn't stay connected to your phone and you have to do all this procedure. I would like you to try the tips mentioned on this article: Why can't I control music with my Fitbit device?
Additionally, could you let me know which mobile device you're using?
Keep me posted!

I am in the same boat. I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps, including a full factory reset. Nothing seems to work. I am completely bummed out, because as a fitness instructor, it is critical that I be able to control my music from my watch in order to get my class done in a timely manner.
I am running a Fitbit Ionic with the newest firmware update and a Samsung Galaxy S9 running Android 9.

This is starting to get really frustrating, as I have now done two factory restores, and the issue comes straight back. The issue is with the watch, when you set the restore music controls to pair, the watch pairs with my Samsung handset. but then drops a couple of minutes later as the restore music control changes to off. Is it possible there is a bug in the firmware/software.

It sounds like you have the same issue as me (you are using the same handset). I think it is something to do with the Restore Music Control function on the watch, as it keeps changing to off after pairing and therefore disconnects the bluetooth connectivity.

Exactly the same problem for me, only since the update.

I love how this has been voted as best answer as if we haven't tried this yet. What a joke. I've done all these steps, and have even gone so far as to wipe my Fitbit back to factory settings. Nothing works.

Hamster3121, yes that's exactly what happens to me too. It's so frustrating. I ended up phoning Fitbit and they're gonna warranty mine because they said I've done everything I could have and nothing stuck.

That was my fault (voting it best answe). Pressed in error and couldn't undo my stupid moment.

Oh haha! I thought maybe Fitbit was voting for themselves. Anyways, I ordered my replacement so hopefully the issue doesn't happen with the new unit.

Same issue using Google Pixel 3. Only started after the format update. So we have to try getting a replacement @SilviaFitbit? Ugh

I am going to jump on the train here. Since the latest update, my Ionic keeps on turning off the bluetooth connection for music control and I always have to reconnect my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) when I want to use the music control feature. This has not been an issue before the latest update, so I really think its a bug. I also did a factory reset recently which didn't change anything. Is Fitbit looking into this?

Yep, agreed - before the latest firmware update, my music control would stay connected much longer. It would still periodically have to be manually reconnected but maybe once a week or so. Now... once I paid it with 'Ionic (Classic)" it only stays paired for a few minutes. Super annoying.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and BT disconnect dial. The watch is disconnected from the phone many times during the day. Today in about 2 minutes he healed and connected ionic to SGS9. Restart ionic and S9 could not. I made a reset ionic. Perhaps it will help. Disabled WIFI on S9, interfering with Bluetooth may not help. Why is the ionic Bluetooth unstable, often disconnecting from the S9? Thank you

Still frustrated that this watch has become super unreliable since the latest firmware update. I've always been using a S9+ with this watch and the watch has never been perfect (ie. repeating notifications) but now, it's as if it has trouble staying connected with my phone.
Oftentimes, I'll see my phone a few feet away from me vibrate with a new message but my watch will not receive the notification. It's super unreliable now and defeats the purpose of having it on me. Also, as I mentioned above, the music control never stays connected beyond a short while. The music control feature is one of the main ones I always enjoyed using, but now whenever I wish to use it (ie. during a workout), I have to manually pair it again.
It's gotten to the point where I simply can't recommend Fitbit to anyone with a Samsung phone. It appears that Fitbit CSRs are simply putting out blanket solutions in a lot of these threads and not actually addressing the bugs and software issues.
These watches ain't cheap you know?

I had been going on 3 weeks without any connection problems after installing the Bluetooth Pair app. However this weekend, I was travelling and my s9 was roaming -I noticed that my battery was draining faster than usual. I set the phone to a medium power consumption mode to conserve battery power. I could no longer get my phone to sync with my Ionic. It would connect, then disconnect- on/off throughout the day. I thought that I was once again going to have the same nightmare that I had one month ago. When I remembered that I had placed the phone in low power mode, and then placed it back to normal power use mode- no more sync problems. All was good again.
I hope that this might help someone with their connectivity troubleshooting.

@SilviaFitbit Yes I've been through the troubleshooting steps multiple times. I have the all day sync enabled, always have. I no longer can use the music controls. I'm addition I have also noticed that my notifications are more delayed compared to the previous firmware. It can take anywhere from 10 to never for my Fitbit to recognize the notification. Sometimes it's more instant like it was before.
I am not going to download a third party app to regain functionality.
