my housemate has the Fitbit blaze she said it counts her steps when she cycles her indoor bike, I didn't know this was a thing. I have an Ionic selecting 'cycle' to track my ride or just letting it pick up my ride automatically nothing happens, no steps are counted. Today I cycled 22 miles, my steps for today are 5905. is there a way to track my steps when I cycle? please help. thank you.

Cycling is not step based so its will not count.
I'm surprised your Housemate says it does.
I put my hands on my knees and it counts some but its not accurate.
If you are holding on to anything it will not count steps. Treadmill, Elliptical,Stepper (which will not count floors either) etc

Hey Wendy
Thank you for your reply. This is what I thought, but she is adamant so I had to ask. I think for a period there through lockdown I got a little obsessed with getting my steps in and cycling would stop this. But your answer has helped clear things up so thank you ☺️ Happy Tuesday 😎
