I am having trouble getting past the part of the set up where a pin shows up on the screen up on your Ionic. It does show up, but then once I type it in, a notification comes up and says stuff about an error 500. I called customer service, and they tried all of their troubleshooting options. Any ideas?

Have you gone into the settings on the ionic - Help - and have done a factory reset? This will bring your tracker back to a state as of it it came from the factory.
You say the 4 digit code does not show up on the tracker, does the app say that it has found an Ionic, I assume that there isn't any other ionic around.
If you paired the ionic to your phones Bluetooth, this will need to be removed, since doing this will prevent the app from finding the tracker.
@juliadixon it will not matter if the tracker is still connected to the previous account a factory reset removes it.

May I ask what type of phone or computer you are having trouble with @juliadixon?
I assume the error 500 is not being displayed on the Ionic itself.

I'm using an Iphone X, but I am pretty sure that it is a problem with the fitbit...

Would waiting for a week after the previous owner deleted their account work? Someone just suggested that for me.
