OK, I can't even get to first base with this three hundred dollar paperweight. I am attempting to set it up with a Windows 10 computer, and after seemingly going through the initial setup routine just fine, it absolutely, positively will not update. Everything I have tried results in an "Update Failed" message. So, if anyone can offer any suggestions, please let me know, before I take this thing back and toss it at the return clerk.
I have gotten what appears to be a good WiFi connection. That's what the Ionic used to complete the initial setup. But after waiting for about 15 minutes, I got the Update Failed message. So, then I set it up for Bluetooth, which appeared to work properly, and tried that. I got another Update Failed message. Then I did the reset routine by holding down the two buttons. And tried again. Update Failed. I did another reset, and tried with WiFi again. Update Failed.
I now have tried at least two "reset and try again" routines, both with Bluetooth and WiFi. Update Failed. I have a Charge 2, is there something I need to do with that in order to get this thing to work?
Thanks again for any suggestions you might be able to send my way.

I did the same thing and got update failed. I then hit the retry button and it said update failed again right away but I noticed that the Ionic was still showing the update bar moving across the screen.
Try hitting retry ans seeing if it moves even though the app says it failed. I just kept switching between using wifi and bluetooth and the Ionic finally showed a green screen like it finished updating. Then I just shut down the app and started over and it worked.

Actually, I finally started just using the Ionic, and as I started working on different settings and such, it appears that I do indeed have the proper, new version: 27.25.16.7
So, hopefully that means that I'm up and running. Not that I'm seeing everything hunky-dory, though. I have quite a list of issues at this point.

The only way I got my Ionic to setup through the app was to remove all other Fitbit devices from the app. (I suppose you could delete the app and reinstall).
