Hey guys,
Just bought an Ionic. Updated. I have 3 AMEX's and tried each one of them. Each time I enter the card info and then the address info, hitting next results in the error: "There was a problem verifying your card details with your financial institution. Please verify and try again". I verified. The info is right. Why is this not working? Amex was on the list of supported banks.
Please help.
Thanks
Tom

I don't get it. This is terrible customer service for a major issue like to go unanswered or unresponded. Its like they took our money are a laughing all the way to the bank. The silence is overwhelming.

Hi Everyone!
Fitbit recently released an update for the Android app, that may help to resolve this issue. Please try the following:
Hopefully you're able to successfully setup after following these steps, but if not please reply to Matt or myself with your Phone, OS, and app version. Thanks!!

I had to turned off my wifi and use celluar data to add the card. That seemed to have worked. Must be something with my work WIFI that is blocking the request from my phone to AMEX. Once I turned off WIFI it went through without any issues.
Google Pixel XL
Android OS 8.1.0
Fitbit app v2.69

I was having trouble with AMEX card registration as well. However, right after the address screen on the card information section, I turned off wifi and forced further communication to go over the cellular data network. Can't explain it, but it worked. -- I had tried this throughout the day on two different wifi networks. I hope this helps someone else.

As both @Garryc & @BubblesOnBrain suggested, turning off WiFi worked. I was able to add my AMEX Blue Cash Preferred card after doing so. Had no trouble adding a couple of Chase cards with WiFi enabled, only the AMEX failed.

I use a Google Pixel and had problems.
So, like a couple of other people mentioned, I reached for my old iPhone.
I downloaded the Fitbit app, signed in, and added it there without any issue.
It's bananas. My pixel is running the newest version of the app and never has problems like this.

This was great!! I was on the phone for hours trying to get this worked out with Fitbit and Amex and they didn't know about this fix. I turned off wifi and it worked. I have a Versa and Note8.

I had mine on there successfully; however, I got a replacement phone (same make and model) and it didn't want to work on "tap" so I removed it and added it back in and NOW get the same error message y'all are getting.
