Cannot disable app notifications

I tried allowing one of my apps to notify me on my fitbit ionic. I enabled app notifications from the notifications menus in the android app. 

It was a but noisy, so I went and unchecked the box for that app. After a few days, I started getting notifications again. I checked and the box for that app was checked again. I unchecked and this process has repeated several times now. 

Maybe uninstalling the fitbit app and reinstalling will work, want to report the issue and see if a fix is already in the works.

@Fozzy0007 I hope you're doing well! That is strange! Are you syncing your Ionic immediately after disabling those notifications on the app? That could actually help you out.

Another thing you can try to turn off all the notifications from that specific app is to press and hold a notification from that app and tap "Off". The option should look like this on your Ionic:

Turn Off Notifications

 That should also help you out for sure. Try both options to check which one will work better for you.

I tried those. And still getting it turned on randomly. Was very annoying today as it started repeatedly alerting me of a calendar appointment during a workout.

I think I solved this one time by uninstalling fitbit and reinstalling. But haven't had the time to try that yet.

I didn't catch the part that you could disable a notification on the ionic itself. I'll try that next time this kicks in again.  I tried tapping and holding on a text message, but I didn't get a menu. I assume texts are different than app notifications.

@Fozzy0007 Thanks for your reply! Yes, you can try tuning off notifications for an specific app by following the steps I left above. 

It is also true that text notifications doesn't work the same way as app notifications. I think you should give this a try next time and see if that will help.
