I’ve had my Fitbit for a little over a year and only recently it started glitching. I tried resetting the device multiple times and contacted customer service. Their advice was to purchase a new device (but I don’t have enough money to drop for a new one) and I was wondering if anyone had any luck trying something else.

I don't think anyone could answer without knowing the specifics of your "glitching".

So so my Fitbit has constant lines across the screen and keeps zooming in and out. Most of the time it looks similar to this:
