Difficulties with Ionic after factory reset

Hi all,

I recently purchased an ionic second hand and factory reset it as the preivious users details inc bank card were still on it and photos. Factory reset failed and data was not deleted, but it did say it needed a firmware update, tried to get the update but that failed.  Now the fitbit just keeps rebooting, I have read every error page saying to press the left and bottom button, reset you bluetooth etc.  Nothng appears to work.  Help!

I have now found that if you hold all 3 buttons and then let go of the bottom right button it hard resets the ionic, but then it comes up with data not deleted error. I try again to install on my phone and it doesnt work. Please if someone has a fix please post!!

Welcome to the Community Forums @GixxaTrev.

I appreciate all the information and details that were shared in your post, thanks for troubleshooting your device prior to posting. Since the factory reset procedure wasn't successfully completed, please try once again to perform this procedure and let me know how it goes:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.
