Hi,

I’ve had my Ionic for just shy of 2 years, it was a gift from my Mum. Generally I’ve had no problems with it, but all of a sudden today I look down and the screen has gone completely blank. Looks like it’s backlit but nothing else showing up.

Tried full reset a couple of times, the screen is responsive to touch (vibrates) and also it vibrates when I press buttons. The green light is also on at the back. Have put it on charge and tried above steps but same issue.

Given the age of my Fitbit I think I’m out of warranty but anyone else had this issue and fixed it? I’m really upset as the Fitbit is a special gift and has somewhat been “keeping me company” during lockdown and getting me out exercising.

I’ve really looked after it so hoping I don’t have to condemn it!

Grateful for any suggestions

Thanks

Rachael

Hi @Rachy66, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared, your effort troubleshooting your device before posting over here is really appreciated. Since the restart process didn't resolve this display issue, I suggest you to follow the below steps to perform a factory reset and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

Please keep me posted.

The logo doesnt appear at all.

U can see the back light coming on but nothing in the bright green colour of the logo.

I seem to have exactly the same problem as the original poster.

Two years old etc etc

Hi Ricardo,

Thanks for your response. I have tried the hard reset a couple of times but the screen is blank so no Fitbit logo shows up. It vibrates accordingly but still no picture on the screen.

This is all I can see
