Issues with heart rate and GPS accuracy

My wife bought me an Ionic for our 40th anniversary and couldn't be more disappointed. GPS is inaccurate up to 1/10 of a mile per mile and a heart rate monitor that says 187 for a training run I'm almost 68 so that rate just isn't close its absurd and I've positioned it all over my wrist put on tight and otherwise . I dont really care about the heart rate monitor but why have it at all if it's going to be that far off. What i hate is GPS system as I've had some ancient types of trackers that were much more accurate even on trails. It does look nice though

Hi @Boysofsuma, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. I'd like to let you know that we are always striving to improve the Fitbit experience with our products and services, therefore, the feedback that's shared here in the Community Forums is always appreciated and really helpful for us to evaluate our procedures and make sure that we are delivering what our users want and need.

For the heart rate accuracy concern, let me share with you that heart-rate tracking can be affected by several factors including air temperature and device location on your arm. For more information, please check our help article: How do I track my heart rate with my Fitbit device? and What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

In regards your GPS concern, since your Ionic device has a built-in GPS chip on it, you can try restarting it and then check: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?

Let me know if you have any additional questions.
