I don't know if this is a new issue since the upgrade or not, but it never happened before. It appears to me that the tracker now closes out the exercise app and loses the workout if the tracker pauses for too long.
Today, I tracked a 4 mile walk. I came into my house and forgot to end the workout. Evidently, the tracker decided to shut down the app, which would be fine, but the entire workout was gone. I had a similar issue on a run on Saturday. I started the exercise tracker for a run but didn't start right away and the app shut down. Luckily, it was at the beginning so I just restarted the app and reconnected.
Before the upgrade, it seems like the exercise app would stay open indefinitely and wait for me to do something with it (resume, end, etc.) Now it seems like some sort of programming has been made to tell the tracker to close out of the app if there isn't activity for a certain amount of time and it isn't saving the workout to that point. This is frustrating. Losing a walk is minor, but if I had lost a 12 mile run, I would have been pretty ticked.
Is there a place to report things like this so they can be fixed in the next upgrade?
Thanks,
Debra

Thanks for your response. I've reset and will take a walk later to see if this resolves the problem. Debra

I've been having a problem with my exercise function stopping and erasing the workout mid-workout. I was about 1.25 miles into my run on Sunday and it stopped altogether. The exercise wasn't saved. I know it was working because a gentleman on the race route asked me about the distance around 0.87 miles...was working fine then. Thank goodness I was wearing my Garmin on the other wrist to track the workout. My Ionic has made me paranoid that my heartrate really is jumping to 203+ during my workouts, so I wore the Garmin with chest strap to test it. My heartrate never got over 163. It also stops during my bootcamp workouts. It's super frustrating! HR has been off, but the exercise stopping started happening after the last update.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks, Christy

After the reset, workout stats appeared for my walk, only my last .78 mile took me 261 minutes (!) so apparently it was still tracking even though the app wasn't running. I tried to replicate the problem tonight but couldn't, so I'm assuming the issue is resolved. I'll remember to reset in the future if something quirky happens. Debra

I experienced the exact same issue after the latest update. I also found that a reset seemed to resolve things and I haven't had the problem since. Not sure what the update changed in the auto-pause, but it seems like it caused a temporary glitch which goes away with a reset.

Have you tried restarting your Ionic? That seems to have resolved the issue I was having with the exercise tracking.
I have the same issue with my heart rate showing too high if I don't position the tracker above the wristbone and synch it down tight. If it wiggles at all or slips down, the heart rate jumps way up. I was having a hard time getting the original band tight enough without feeling uncomfortable. Could be a female skinny wrist issue. I just purchased a third party sport band for runs and it's much more comfortable for wearing snuggly.

Definitely not fixed yet. I turned autopause back on and the problem happened immediately when the first exercise cue hit at the 2 minute mark. I stopped my run, turned off autopause and exercise cues using the app, synced and then reset the Ionic. Luckily I carried my phone with me during this run. I usually leave it at home. No issues after that. I hope the development team is working on this one, it's pretty annoying.

I did a reset on my Ionic and that has seemed to fix this problem. I've worked out probably 5 times and had no problems since. Fingers crossed, that continues.

My ionic has done this three times in the last few weeks on a weights workout now. It loses the data and when I try and manually add the exercise it doesn't seem accurate at all. Not very happy with this, it's a bit glitch!
