Exercise tracking stops abruptly

The last couple of weeks my Fitbit Ionic exercise tracking has started shutting off 3-5 minutes into my run. I have to start a new activity and I lose any time and distance I ran in that 3-5 minute timeframe. Extremely frustrating to have to start the tracking over mid-run. This has happened once or twice in the past, but now it is happening consistently.

-My Fitbit software and hardware are updated and watch is less than 2 years old

-I’m not hitting any buttons while running

-My band fits properly and is positioned in the right spot

I need suggestions to fix this otherwise I’m going to have to consider going back to Garmin. Have always loved FitBit, but this is a dealbreaker.
