Hello,
I ordered my Ionic and are really happy with it. Unfortunately I cannot connect my HR sensor, although I expect that as a "must-have feature" for such a high price (at least in EU). Is there a chance that this issue will be fixed with new software in the next weeks? Is there a general plan for updates & new features?
Otherwise I need to return the watch 😞
Thanks and greetings

The Ionic has a built in HR sensor so I’m pretty sure Fitbit will do as they have done on their other HR equipped devices and rely on that internal functionality for heart rate monitoring.

If not having external heart rate monitor support is a deal-breaker for you, returning it may be what you want.
Fitbit may add that support later, but typically it's not announced ahead of time. There will be upgrades to the Ionic no doubt, but whether they have that function is unknown.
As @MikeF stated, it's not a feature that any of the fitbits currently have.

@baernd Fitbit has shown no interest, or dropped any hints about supporting any external sensors. Its safe to assume external HR sensor will not be supported in near or medium term.
