I work on an ambulance, im always in and out of the truck, just got the ionic. Is there anyway to stop or pause the step count while im driving around in the truck? I know drivebit is there and adjust the log, but is there anyway to stop the count with an app on the ionic? Or function?

Seems to be a simple fix
If it uses GPS surely once you get to a speed that you can't walk/run as fast then it should auto stop count steps.
Or you just put it in drive mode but for me the first option is the better choice

I just got off the phone with customer support and as a new Fitbit owner I am not very pleased with the level of support and the outcome. the person I spoke to definitely had a language barrier and I believe miss the whole point of what I was trying to explain. I did ask that they open a support case with their r&d team to address this issue since I chose to go with this device instead of their competitor which I have owned for many years and never had this issue.
my research and Friends highly recommended Fitbit for all of the fitness-tracking instead of the smart watches I have owned over the past several years. for the most part I agree that the fitness tracking is superior but this issue is completely unacceptable. if you are selling a device intended to track fitness and it is collecting data and reporting metrics incorrectly it makes it very difficult can you use that as a device for tracking fitness. I have a 2 hour commute in and a 2-hour commute home. if I do not remember to take my Fitbit off and charge it I can gain up to 4,000 extra steps which skews the data and obviously messes up the number of calories I have actually burned. I'm trying to lose weight and I need a device that provides real-time accurate data... it feels as if I may have wasted my money unless Fitbit can take this issue seriously and provide a real fix. I should not have to charge my device or add some sort of driving log to undo the steps. like one of the post said it has a GPS which can track how far and how fast you're going or simply give me a driving mode.
come on Fitbit your competitors are doing it so I cannot understand why you are not. again for a fitness tracking device and one of the leaders in the industry this is completely unacceptable. please fix this issue or refund my money so I can get something more reliable.

shocking that its 2022, and FItbit is not doing anything to correct this. i get around 10K false steps avg daily while riding motorbikes. I love fitbit, and this is the only issue i have. unfortunately noone in the Fitbit dev team is listening.
