It's very apparent that Fitbit purposely sent out a software update to render the older watches unusable. I've done a lot of research on the web and this problem has happened to 1000's of people. I recently bought the Fitbit Sense because my Ionic had bricked. Now that the same thing happened to my husbands less than 3 weeks later I wish I hadn't bought the Sense. Will never buy another Fitbit product again.

This happened to me too, ive had my fitbit just over 2 years, I loved it! I would use it sooo much, I had to stop using it cause the band broke, I just bought a new band off of amazon, factory reset my fitbit ionic, now its bricked.. I cant use it, spending as much as i did on a device i expected it to last longer then it did.. I contacted customer support, they said it was out of warranty. gave me a 35% off coupon.. but why on earth would i spend more money on something thats going to brick with firmware updates!! I have had cheaper phones and cheaper fitness watches that lasted longer! I will never EVER buy another fitbit. Waste of money!
