I received my Ionic as I gift over Thanksgiving. It worked really well and I loved it. Recently, I haven't been receiving notifications consistently. They come through the Fitbit sporadically if at all. The device is also not syncing up even though on "All-Day Sync." I have reached out to Customer Service twice and they have me do everything from restart my phone, re-pair my device to my bluetooth, restart my device, force close my app, redownload my app etc. After doing all of these things my device will temporarily sync up. Then I have to go through the same process. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? My phone is up to date as is my device. Seems crazy that this Fitbit was so expensive and is already not working properly.

I just had the worst experience with tech support for Fitbit. I bought an Ionic about a year ago and have had synching issues the entire time. about a week ago, I had to delete the ionic from my app and then set it up again. It worked for me once so I figured I would do it again. I can no longer add the watch to my account and the time is all wrong. I called tech support and they ran through a few troubleshooting actions but nothing worked. Their answer is to be on the lookout for an update on their firmware. They have basically developed a product that does not work and are saying screw you, your stuck with it. I cannot trust this company going forward and will never buy another fitbit product again. Nor will any of my family. I would suggest buying Apple.

I am having the same issues. Must shut the app on the phone and stop and start Bluetooth everyday in order to get it to sync. There is an issue in the firmware!!

Hmm? Sounds very familiar reading thru many of these threads.
Definitely no one should have to endure this sort of experience. Any syncing issues should be a sign the product may be on its way out or is already defective. So is much better to have “zero tolerance” for any issues during ownership of this device. That might be very important to note for many.
Often once out of warranty this device simply refuses to work. So can appreciate switching to another brand. Not many seem to ever want another Fitbit with so many “known issues” unresolved. Makes a lot of sense.

You updated to the recent version of FitBit 3.0, correct? That seems to be the stem of the problem. Bluetooth syncing issues.

Absolutely - since going to the current version of FITBIT syncing is not working consistently. A prior firmware update also did this and it took FITBIT months to get it fixed. I can get it to sync sometimes by restarting the watch but this is getting old. Not clear why one would EVER buy FITBIT device again - certainly cannot suggest it to anyone at this point.

Well, about the Kickstarter Block's watch fiasco/scandal, I am glad I at least have a watch. I liked my Charge 2, never had any issues. Today is my third factory reset and now I am a bit frustrated. I cannot take it back to the shop since I bought it through a third party vendor here in Vietnam.
I will give it a couple more days but I suspect I will just replace my Ionic with a Polar M600. WearOS is running well on it.
