Fitbit Iconic shutdown during activity and won't restart

My iconic had 80% battery when I started an activity bike today. I checked my activity in between and it was working.  After completing  activity roughly after 1 hour and 30 minutes I tried checking the device but it had already shutdown. I immediately tried restarting but didn't work.

This kind of crash has happened before as well, normally I try charging and it works but I lose the activity stats.

This time I tried the same thing by leaving my devices for charging a total of 2 hours. Normally there is a sign of charging or not charging appearing when I plug-in my charger.

But this time nothing showed up on screen. So I thought the battery had completely drained. After waiting 2 hours I tried starting the device again and it failed. Still cannot use my devices and feel like it's crashed or something

I pressed all 3 buttons and it seems to have started my devices back up again with 15% battery and in a minute the battery went up to 25% on its own.

When I tried this procedure I had unplugged my charger. So there doesn't seem to be a good cause for the battery to increase.

Also I lost my activity completely and if I had 15-25% of battery still available why did it shutdown.

NB: The battery still keeps increasing with any charging support 1% at a minute

This exact same thing happened to me yesterday and I was fuming. I went to climb Ben Nevis yesterday and my ionic had 69 percent battery left. I set my watch to hike and off I went.  The watch cut out half way up the mountain and went flat. Lost all the stats for the day. This has happened to me a couple of times now and it's getting so annoying. Also when the watch completely dies I find it so hard to charge up and get back on. I have left it on charge for hours and still can't get it on. I had a blaze before this and it lasted me 5yrs with pretty much no problems. I wear my watch every day and always do lots of challenges but I'm thinking of just ditching it now if fitbit can't sort the problem out.
