Had the same issue 2xs on my 2yr old Ionic. 1st time a wire taken to clean the charge Cable finally resolved it after 3 wks - (was Christmas $ left for 2wks) - did it again Feb 1, nothing worked so I bought a new charge stand - still nothing so I bought a new Ionic for my birthday - decided i to try again before pitching. the NEW Fitbit Ionic cable charged it no problem, when I got to 10% the stand did the rest -I now have 2 devices not only 1 can put on me account, hand a 4yr old Blaze & 6yr old HR as well that still work so I KNOW they're built to last! Try cleaning 1st and order a new Fitbit cable to charge with. Use caution if you order from Amazon, many products labeled Fitbit are NOT, they're made in China abs state NOT covered by warranty in the fine print! (Got both mine from Kohls) I hope that helps!!!

Hi Sylvia,
Thank you for your help my Ionic is working again!

Do you have any recommendations for an indoor rowing app that works well with my Ionic? I’m having a hard time finding one. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Gerard

@2ndBarbaraM Welcome to the Community. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Fitbit devices. I'm glad to hear that you've been a Fitbit customer for some years now.

@GWRower Thanks for getting back. I'm glad to hear that your Ionic is working again. Regarding the indoor rowing app that you're looking for, you may want to take a look at the list of third-party apps.

If you would like to track this activity, you may want to use the workout activity on your Fitbit Ionic.

Hi Sylvia,

I tried and subsequently paid for one and I went to use it and it it wanted me to log in and pay again before I could use it. Needless to say I was unhappy, disappointed, and dissatisfied.

I ended up cleaning the contacts on both the watch and the charging cable and that did the trick. I hope this helps you!

I wish it was as easy as cleaning the charging ports or replacing the cable - my 13 month old watch is dead, dead, dead.

I’ll not be throwing more money at Fitbit. Feels like a scam at that price point.

@SilviaFitbiti posted in another thread about the issues i was having with my 3rd Ionic. it was replaced last April, hoping it is still under warranty! similar issues everyone else is ahaving here, won't charge, no display, no combination of pressing and holding buttons is getting a response. prior to dying, it went from 100% charge to dead in 4-6 hours. i tried power saving settings such as display only turning on with button press and also dimming the screen. to no avail, once it went, it never came back 😞

any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

I cleaned the contacts on the back of my watch and the charging cable with rubbing alcohol. That did the trick for me! Hope this helps!

thanks Gerard, trying this now! all i see is 0% on the screen, never gets higher. probably just needs a new battery, but these obviously don't have replaceable internals...

My ionic has totally stopped working and charging. It does nothing when plugged up overnight or when I do a hard rest. It is just a black screen. Any suggestions?
