Fitbit Ionic Dead due to Condensation

Hi, I've had a Fitbit Ionic for almost two years. I know it's supposed to be waterproof, but I am super careful with it and don't swim with it or shower with it. If it gets sweaty, I wipe it down with a towel. The other day, the battery completely died. I plugged it in and the screen immediately said Charging 0%. I came back six hours later and it wouldn't turn on anymore, and it wouldn't charge. It has been completely dead ever since. I noticed that the sensors in the back appear to have some condensation on the windows. I thought these things were waterproof?  And I don't even swim or shower with it on?

I followed the troubleshooting tips listed on the support site. Then I started a chat with a Fitbit support representative. At the end, she gave up and gave me a 25% discount code, which was incredibly disappointing. I was hoping it could be fixed somehow. The discount code doesn't even mark the Ionic down lower than what I could purchase it for on Amazon! Completely disappointed right now. I can't spend that much money on another device that won't last two years. Does anyone else have any ideas on how I can resurrect it?

Hi @geams13,

Some people have reported success with the "rice trick", which is to place the watch in a ziplock that has some rice in it for a few days. The rice may absorb the excess moisture sometimes. If this works, the Ionic would no longer be water-resistant, but it may work. Best of luck.
