Fitbit Ionic adding steps while charging

Today while I was charging my Ionic watch it automatically added 4888 steps! It’s happened before. How do I delete those steps & why is it happening? Thank you.

Is the Fitbit near a vibration source like a fan, dehumidifier, or even a computer CPU? It can see the vibration as steps and add false steps.

I also had this problem whilst charging my ionic last night. 6K steps were recorded. The ionic was on charge on my bed stand.
