To be honest, I don't think you are the only one that has moved away from them by the looks of it!

I'm hopeful.....I need to be! Surely all the people on these forums are just a disgruntled few and there are millions of users out there that are happy fitbit users......come on fitbit, help us all be happy with your products and have a few good posts!

The few problems I had with past versions of my Fitbit were taken care of by the company via replacement devices.  I currently own the VERSA and I love it!  I love it better than my apple watch.

My fitbit ionic was charged to about 85% and while i was scrolling the apps on the watch it died..

Nothing works and nothing lights or vibrate.

Reset and charging does nothing and i have now for the third time explained to fitbit support that the device is dead..

I have been so happy with fitbit since i got my first one. But frustrating to explain the same thing three times..

I got the Fitbit Ionic for Christmas 2017. This has happened before (after a firmware update), but I was able to get it back with the 3 button reset. The next firmware promised to resolve that issue. Then, last week, went to bed at 56% battery life, woke up... Watch was dead. Tried everything, but to no avail...

Spent an hour or longer chatting with Fitbit support and she confirmed that my watch had synced at 5AM with plenty of battery life. She then went through all the same troubleshooting steps I had already tried.

At that point she basically gave up, said it was out of warranty, and offered a 25% discount on a new device. I was apalled. A $300 watch completely dead for no reason, but since its warranty was maybe 2 months passed, all they offered was 25%!?!? That is a joke! How is that support? That is "You're on your own", not support.

Needless to say, $300 is not something I just throw around carelessly on a new smartwatch, this was truly a splurge for me. I did research before committing to this device. This watch is supposed to handle an active person, doing every-day things, and I would expect it to last for years. But it can't even last a month past its warranty.

The watch was never abused, is in mint condition, but is now sitting on a nightstand, useless... All while I pray that it will ever come back on.

Any other company would admit their mistake and just recall the product. They would either repair or replace the faulty devices. To offer 25% off a new $300 device for a faulty 1 year old $300 device is an insult. That is not even $100 off what you should be getting as a free replacement!!! You can get them for 25% less than retail on Amazon or eBay. Again, HOW IS THIS SUPPORT???

My ionic is dead after 16 months. I was offered a 40% discount on the purchase of a new one. I went ahead and got it because I absolutely love my ionic. Keeping fingers crossed this one lasts!

Sorry to hear about your experience, but it sounds far too typical and similar to mine. My wife and I have each had Ionics that failed under similar circumstances. Grudgingly, Fitbit replaced both Ionics after a rather involved procedure requiring you to send videos or pictures to their technical support staff to prove our units were indeed, broken. The Ionic is a flawed product IMHO and Fitbit should discontinue it and offer a generous  settlement to owners to replace with another model.

I had two fail from water damage,  screen falling off,   horizontal lines.  My wife's also failed in 13 months.  Three of my friends all had theirs fail as well..  My wifes other watch the garmin vivoactive has been going strong for nearly 4 years.. Fitbit has failed with the IONIC and they are getting a very poor name in the industry and it's spreading like wildfire.  I've never been more unhappy with a product in all my life.  It should beat the warranty two or three times over..

It's good to hear that Fitbit are keeping an eye on the message boards to see what feedback is coming through on the products, but reading all of the responses on here, it is incredibly obvious that there is either a dodgy batch of ionics that have found a way onto the market or worse still, there are serious issues in the product itself.

I feel that the onus is on Fitbit to reach out to all the people on here with the same issue and offering them something to repay their faith in them. An offer of 25%-40% off another Fitbit isn't good enough in my eyes!

My ionic died after 15 months, nothing has worked to bring it back, seems like a built in failure as so many have failed after a similar amount of time, this was my third fitbit (not all ionics) and my last.

My Fitbit Ionic died within 4 weeks of receiving it for Christmas. I really liked it and missed wearing it, not only for workouts, but throughout the day.

Fitbit sent me a free replacement. I just completed set-up, and I hope this one will last much longer.

I would see if they will let you upgrade to Versa I did and have not had a
problem since. I honestly think that the Ionc itself is a dud they need to
remove.

After using my Ionic for approx 1.5 year it went totally off. How it happened?

it started to restarting continuously. I could not stop it. even I made a rested it continued to restart. After every restart the screen was working for approx 10 second then restarted with fitbit logo. The battery went down from 88% to 0% in an hour. Now it seems like does not charge, does not wake up. Just dead..

I came to fitbit site to purchase a new ionic and an aria 2 as I we have many fitbits in the family. Even I have a fex2 for the days I'd like to wear a regular watch.  I just found this topic and I got confused.

Now I'm not sure at all I want to buy a replacement and want to enhance my fitbit fleet or just leave the fitbit ecosystem and move back to apple watch.

I had a fitbit surge, than Ionic with flyer also have a flex 2 my wife has an alta HR. But I'm losing faith.

Even with the short time I used my fitbit I had to replace the wrist band of it and the new one is also off.

I'm not a sporting guy. I sit in an office and go for 20-30 minutes walks a day. So no taught use of the device:)

Fitbit Ioinic is an old product. Versa is not comparable with it and looks ugly (sorry). If the quality of fitbit went as low as I see here.Than I might be out.

Good news for me, my replacement is on it's way.

I hope others with similar problems have equally good resolutions.

My Ionic went died last night and I charged it whole morning. I also tried restart by press right upper and lower bottom. The Ionic still not start.

The “inconvenience “ is the $300 paperweight that I own. It’s been replaced twice with “refurbished’ paperweights and still won’t work. Fitbit needs to admit their error and recall all of these paperweights

I couldn't agree more. The Ionic is a flawed product and should be recalled, wholesale, with a generous settlement to owners. The only reason I have persisted with Fitbit Ionic is the charge time beats an Apple watch.

Hi Grace,

Thanks for checking and coming back to me. At the moment, I'm waiting on Very to confirm the cost of the Fitbit has been refunded in line with the 2 year warranty that I believe is in place in the UK although my Ionic only lasted 10 months anyway.

Once that's all done, I'll disappear off into the sunset with a bit of regret as the Ionic was a great smart watch that I really enjoyed using while it worked. Just feel that Fitbit themselves have missed an opportunity to mix it with the big boys here....they obviously have the product, they just need to work on making sure that its fit for purpose because unfortunately, judging by the comments on here, you lost a fair bit of future custom!

What's the old saying about unhatched chickens.....read the posts - you maybe getting a replacement Ionic....hopefully you'll get one that works but the success rate on those replacements appears to be fairly low!
