My ionic died this morning. I've had it on the charger for 6 hours, switched outlets and chargers and it will not power on. I've tried the factory reset, I've tried all three buttons, I've tried to sync it, I've tried the left and bottom button, I've cleaned the sensors, absolutely nothing works. I don't think the battery was even low enough for it to just die. I just bought 10 bands for this thing last week and now I can't even use it bc it won't turn on. I haven't even had it a year yet.

Thanks for the tip. It worked for me. The only issue is that when it restarted, it started with the date and time it quit working so now I have to reset it and I lost two days of workouts.

"I'm still wondering what's going on. Is this a sign that the battery is going? Don't know. Ideas?"
Given yours is approaching 2 years old - I'd suggest the battery may be heading south, but a lithium ion battery should last well in excess of 2 years. BUT, we don't know anything about the quality of these batteries.
Most likely these issues are caused by firmware (software) issues. Particularly in the last couple of releases.
Plenty off us are hanging out for the next release. I expect it will be sandboxed and soak-tested more that any previous release. I hope they get it right - although I won't be in any hurry to immediately download it.
I feel sorry for those that have bricked devices out of warranty.
My Ionic suddenly died the other day - likely when a phone call notification triggered. Sensor LED was flashing on the back. Nothing else. Had a sinking feeling. Managed to reboot it by holding all 3 buttons for at least 20secs. Doesn't instill a sense of well being in me regarding the quality and longevity of these expensive - but cheaply manufactured gadgets though.

Well, dead Ionic part 3. So after reporting that magically after 8 hours of being dead, my watch returned life, towards the end of the next day, it has gone dead again. So far there is no rousing of it either. Going to have it looked at tomorrow.
Not too happy at the moment.

Actually, that was very similar to what I experienced on this second dead event.

Part IV - so last night the Ionic came back to life with < 20% charge, even though I had been charging it a lot. Although, this time I can't recall the fitbit data on the phone and a number of the apps are missing.

Well, gosh, took my watch back to Best Buy where I bought it and had an extended warranty which was set to expire in 7 days. Rather than fixing it, which I would not have minded, I got a brand new right then and there. Happy now but where will I be in 2 more years?

mine i had it just over a year stopped working also talk to costumer service and asked about warranty and of course just past a year so 30% discount on new one what will someone buy and pay 300 dollars for 1 year . It's a scam i bet it's there fault in software or something.
