Fitbit Ionic - unresponsive after a reset

About 2-yr old Ionic. Wanted to switch from one phone A to B. Updated to new firmware, removed from account and tried to set up as a new device in the 2nd phone - the phone didn't see it. Did a reset and after a while the screen turned off - it never came back up.

Putting it on charge overnight didn't help so tried the left button + bottom button for 30 seconds - no luck. It had worked before. Cleaned the contacts of the charging cable and the device with rubbing alcohol and tried the same button combination for a minute - still nothing.

Did the key combination change after the firmware update? What else can I try? Thanks for any suggestions.

It seems many are having this problem - since I tried resetting after the new update, I am guessing it's a software issue. Tried the button combination about 20 times so far without any luck...

No replies from Fitbit in 10 days here (I see replies in other threads) - looks like I tried everything I could and as it's been well over a year, the device died as it was designed to.
