So the original thread was closed with no official word from FB yet if it's safe to update our remaining devices?
Anyone install this within the last day or so successfully?
Curious about both the Ionic and Versa 2 firmwares.

What's the latest? Still looking at an "Update Available" alert but reluctant to install it.
Is it safe yet??

I would hold off.... ESPECIALLY if you have an Ionic!

I ran the update and my Ionic is basically a brick. It will not stay charged more then 12 hours, buttons, don't work, multiple resets later it is worthless for me.

Guess that answers @Runner3364's question.
Is Fitbit actually working on this, and can we hear something official from them??
Bueller?

And the reply from Fitbit is? 25% discount?

At this point I'd be happy to have my entire data set wiped if the thing can start telling time again.

@CurlyS you have had a moderator working with you in another thread and customer support was getting with you. Check your spam folder for any missing emails.

Ended up buying another smartwatch that I hope will work better for me. As soon as it gets here I will be dropping Fitbit like a bad habit... and it's a shame that one update turned me from enjoying my Ionic to hating it. It would be one thing if it was out of support, but they still sell the **ahem**ed thing "brand new"! I will miss the 4-5 day battery life, but this has turned into not much more than a standard watch that needs charging. I hope everyone here having this problem either finds better customer service or an update that corrects the problems soon... sadly I will not be sticking around to find out and don't believe I can trust Fitbit again in the future. Best of luck to all of you!

Haven't updated yet but my Ionic seems to be draining slightly faster than normal these days and the GPS tracking dropped midway on my last two runs - which it never did before.
Has the update been fixed yet, and would it theoretically fix my watch or still permanently brick it??
Doesn't seem to be any progress? Or have I missed anything?

@Runner3364 I gave up. My Ionic slowly died in a matter of a month. Due to the lack of accountability for causing all these dedicated users devices to just crap out, I have moved on and purchased a Garmin Forerunner945. Much pricier, but the battery life on this device is amazing. Good luck in the fight, I hope you get resolve.

What a joke of a company. They have to be having internal problems to be ignoring a huge issue like this.
Been looking at other devices and I'm ready to jump but don't have the $$$ right now so I'm just venting my frustrations about Fitbit not lifting a finger to help me/us.
Their product reviews out there are primarily about the Versa 2, which is now aging as well as the anemic Ionic. No way this company can stay viable if they aren't going to at least try to keep their existing user base.

Huh, so get this...after over a month of ignoring the Update Available notifications...I bought a new phone and had to re-pair my Ionic with it. The notification isn't there anymore and I freaked out that my watch was updated but it wasn't.
Did they pull the update or has my new phone's app just not caught up yet?
So dang pathetic.
