Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30-minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

I updated to the latest version of firmware and after the update, I could not get my Fitbit Ionic to start up. I had the extended warranty so I took it back to the store and got a new one. Once I got home and set up my new Ionic, it is having the same issue.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

That could have been it, it keeps jumping back and saying I weigh 450 lbs! LOL
it may have been that way when I was at the gym! I will see what it says today, I think I have everything straightened out.
And now, my Ionic won't sync any of the weight or water info to my phone that I enter on my watch.
I debated on installing the update from past experience, maybe I should have held off as long as I could have! 😉
Thanks @carlfxy

@Gregc63 I'm glad to see that you were able to fix the issues with your calories burned. Sorry about what happened with the weight and water logs from your Ionic. Please restart your Ionic, try to log again your water or weight information and sync your Ionic. Can you please confirm if adding this information on the Fitbit app updates the weight/water stats on the Fitbit Ionic?
Your comments are very important for us. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you FITBIT!
Calibration took about 30 seconds I think.

I was able to get my watch to turn on by pressing all three buttons on my watch. But the time was wrong and was corrected once I put it on the charger. I turned my watch off this evening and the same thing happened. It wouldn’t come on unless all three buttons were pressed. I also noticed my my battery strength dropped fro 84% to 65% something it’s never done before. I followed all steps in the troubleshooting document. This didn’t happen until I did the update.

Another successful fast update..6 minutes to transfer to Ionic via WiFi and another 3 minutes for the Ionic to activate itself. All of my settings remain the same, especially the Apps I had already deleted. Fitbit Pay works.
When I upgrade Firmware I ensure
If your Fitbit gets stuck, press and hold the back and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.

Your update is s hit big time (this is the first time I am using such word) . This update is unable to boot up my watch (ionic) and again lost notification settings (before I shut down my watch). I know fitbit will not do any repair because my watch is out of warranty and that's the more I am angry with this update

Who chooses the best answers for this topic? Going by the vast amount of unhappy upgraders here I would certainly think twice before selecting one of the few replies where someone has had a sucessful update.

So, did the update via bluetooth ... slow but seems to have gone through. Slightly disappointed that the "extra" drop down that covers notifications is still there and hasn't, at least, been given an option to turn on or off (as far as I can see). Graphics seem a little bit worse (but may be less memory/speed intensive). Worked out that quick exercise choice can be now selected by the left hand button as the top right button was what I used previously. The only issue now is that this selction starts almost immediately recording the exercise. Can I suggest that more work be done on the drop down so that it doesn't interfere with notifications etc.
