Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30-minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Just wondering if there is a basic common denominator to everyone's issues....besides it being related to.the update!!!
For example.....
1. A particular version of Ionic?
2. A particular phone your Ionic syncs to?
3. A particular country?
Just trying to find something that might help.people understand?

Hello Everyone and @YojanaFitbit
Now , after the firmware update, the IONIC is NEXT TO USELESS.
1) The Heartbeat sensor NOT WORKING, will not light up.
2) The Recalibrate and fail is in endless looping while connected to the charger
3) The battery drains from 100% to 0% within 5 hours, just sitting on the table.
4) The feedback from Customer Support is Useless, wont admit there is a problem.
When is FITBIT going to fix this firmware issue ?
Not happy 😞

An interesting snippet, it appears that posts that highlight the issue are going missing, as my post of last night detailing my further issues did.
Is Fitbit concealing the scale of the issue?

After updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, it gives rise to inaccurate swimming laps tracking. Before the update, it was perfectly fine. But after the update, when the laps were completed, it does not show the summary of my swimming workout. It turned to the clock face. Please advise.

Thanks, I've tried all the methods of shutting down, rebooting resetting, but for now it doesn't seem to work. Sometimes it comes back. Who knows pretty well given up on the sync feature (it sucked from day one)

I updated my Ionic last week and since then it spontaneously restarts throughout the day and night and in the middle of workouts, often several times in a single hour. Is this a known bug and is there a fix for it?

Hi @BradMcCormick ,
YES, Aus consumer Affairs , extended the Fitbit warranty to 2 years.....so this should be covered as a "defective device"
Don't be surprised if you receive a "Replace offer" very soon... just as I did.

I notice since update my ionic does not show sleep score or how much i slept during the time or how long I was in sleep during each stage. It only lets me see how much sleep I had during the week and how many hours of that day of the week. I tried a factory reset with no success also try resync with my iPhone and that has no effect. The app for the iPhone does show all the info of my sleep score and stages though. Just not the Ionic itself does not.

I have trued the reboot and had some inprovment. It did not stop by itself till after 4 miles on 5 mile pace run so better but still not much use for longer runs... I am thinking that it may be memory issue.
Thanks Graeme

Yojana! "@DmitryN and @EdwardsWM thank you for reporting this issue in your activity. Have you tried restarting your Ionic? Does this happen with every workout?"-
I answer: the bracelet restarted several times (this operation began to work not as before. I described this in previous posts). The activity starts only when you press (touch) the screen. Judging by the changed design of the workout start screen, the lack of a mechanical button start function is not provided in this OS version. I want to say that this is not a bug update and changes made by engineers intentionally. Would like to ask you to return in the next update, Start the bottom right button.

I am having text and email message problems being received with the Fitbit Ionic and have been since I bought it 6 months ago. I have updated the firmware and the versions of the Fitbit App and everything else. I have restarted the watch, reinstalled the apps, restarted the phone etc. Sometimes after a phone restart the messages (text and emails) come through for a while and then nothing again. I send a test call notification and this always works every time but nothing else......I gave up trying to resolve this issue and every time there is a new release, I am hopeful......until it doesn't work again !!

Support reached out to me, I followed their instructions and now my watch won't turn on! I left it charging in two different chargers, cleaned the contacts, etc and while the watch feels warm at times, it just won't start.
