Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30-minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?

We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Sorry to hear that have you emailed the support people?
I guess you've done a reset/restart
Not sure what else to suggest

As I do not believe that Fitbit understands the severity of the problems that the update has caused so many of its Ionic owners and since I did call customer support and received totally useless information I have decided to document my time issues by noting on this forum every time I have to sync and how far off of the actual time my Ionic has "drifted". At least at this point, after at least a week of having significant problems syncing, I am able to sync, albeit generally with more effort that I ever used to have to expend, so here goes. It is 7:01 where I am and my fitbit says it is 6:40.

It was 3:02 when I synced and my Ionic said it was 2:58.

Im having the same problem with mine, updated it on satuday night before i went to gym, then i was nearly late to my training session on Monday morning, as ionic had lost time overnight, sync the next day, lost time again, since then have contacted customer support, and did everything they suggested. Turned it off and found that have to hold left and bottom right button to turn on, as well as having difficulty syncing, synced once worked, tried to sync again straight afterwards and it couldnt find it, tried doing what they said to get to resync. Syncing is off and on it either will or it wont, most of the time nope. It was all good the morning, it kept time with my blaze, but the afternoon it started, now it is down 9-10 minutes. Unless the problem is sorted soon, i will be looking at getting a garmin instead.

It is 10:12 but my Ionic says it is 9:28. Time to sync AGAIN!

@M.O.M Hi, I've had the same issue. It happens when your ionic loses charge and hasn't sync'd yet once you have charged it. The time difference, in your case 44 minutes, simply represents the time the Ionic had no charge. Solution, whenever you get the reminder that your ionic charge is running low, charge it. In fact from something someone else posted here is to charge it whenever you are sitting at your desk being inactive.
Hope this helps.

@Jonno34 That's wierd you should get a low battery alert by email whenever charge drops to 25% i believe. You can set and check your alerts by doing the following :
Hope this helps.

I wish you were correct. I lose time even when my Ionic is fully charged. Right now my Ionic has a 69% charge so as much as the suggestion might work for others experiencing time loss I do not believe that a 69% charge value is low.

This doesn't sound like any problem related to the update, but rather something seriously wrong with your fitbit. I would contact support (via chat) on this link https://help.fitbit.com/?cu=1 if you haven't already done so. Hope it gets sorted.
Good luck getting it sorted.

@M.O.M Yep, I was going to link you to the time zone stuff, but clearly that's not the case. Just call back, or chat with another cs rep, and if you still get no where ask to escalate it to a manager. From my experience the cs reps are following a standard script, its usual when they follow that script when you still have a problem with your fitbit losing time, that they would next send try sending out a new pebble. I'm surprised that the moderator hasn't checked into it / escalated it for you. Worth noting that some retailers will swap it out for you if you tell them that you are having problems with fitbit support not honoring the warranty, particularly amazon.
good luck.

Not the blaze unit., the actual Fitbit Ionic watch. It just arrived as a solo screen. No box or straps. It's still in the packaging as I cannot muster the energy to sort through setting up another Ionic.

Im consider switching. This is my second ionic, the first one just quit, and they wouldn’t replace. I could get 50% of a new one😳. Now my second one has been crashing ever since the latest update. And battery time is about 40 hours. But if I reset it ,will it then work again? I also have to hold in the three buttons to start it.

I am with Fitbit since 2013, since this unfortunate released update my Ionic started to drain battery very fast and I got all the issues other users on this forum are reporting.

Ahhh, the flaw in that is it has to sync. In order to sync, I have to power down the fitbit and all the issues with the restart that entails, force close the app then reboot everything. Then if I am lucky it may sync.
