Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30-minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

The "27" is the beginning of the firmware, if you go to settings then about under version it will show "27".70.7.14, just like the 33.1.30 is "27".33.1.30.
"27" is the Watch Model.

Hii
Hi. I have also tried to setup the Ionic since yesterday, I manage to link and sync it but the firmware update fails immediately before end by showing red X. I tried 4 times from phone, twice from laptop. How many times should I try to update the Ionic by updating firmware in order to work? Ps,: I restarted the clock, updated phone, removed device from app, added again, puting it closet to router, with the phone, nothing....please help?

Wow - only just spotted this thread. So you released the update in May, but mine only updated a couple of weeks ago? That is a VERY slow rollout!
Sorry if these issues have already been mentioned, there are many threads with many more posts so I can't read them all, but 2 major issues for me since this update kicked in ...
1. GPS is constantly dropping out when running (& can take an eternity to connect). Really messing up my tracking, making comparisons on Strava from previous runs almost impossible
2. I cannot start recording a run using the bottom right button which I could previously (can pause / restart / stop). This is not helpful when wearing gloves that don't operate the touchscreen.
Any plans to sort these issues out (ASAP)?
Thanks
Martin

Same issues here, and disabling the button to start an exercise is really dumb. Glad they didn't do it for the pause and resume. I now start my exercise indoors and pause it immediately. Then glove up and head outside, and resume my exercise tracking.

My Ionic says it is 11:55. The actual time is 12:36. I have been trying to get it to sync for about an hour now and it is not happening. Also, I do not believe that I mentioned that last week I tried totally draining the battery, which was a process that was also mentioned as a way to possible overcome the problems. Not for me 🙁

My Ionic started fading its data display and fading in a different one. This happened so quickly I didn't have the chance to read the first on. Having tried the usual corrections; uninstalling the App and reinstalling, stopping the tracker and re-starting it then in the end I tried a Factory Reset. This switched it off OK but now I cannot restart it!!
Is this Firmware Release likely to correct this and if so how will I start it again so that I can install this upgrade? I have always installed offered upgrades since buying it from Amazon about 18 months ago.
This tracker has helped tremendously to maintain my fitness whilst being treated for a life threatening condition and I am very pleased that it has done this.

This morning my Ionic said it was 6:42 and it was actually 7:09.

So are there any plans whatsoever to push down a fix? Some updates from the dev team would be nice.

I did not have time (pun intended) to note all of times that I did a sync on my Ionic yesterday but suffice it to say it was multiple times and as I have stated before it is absurd that the update caused the very basic function of this device, i.e. telling the time, to stop functioning properly. This morning the time was 9:44 my Ionic said it was 9:07 and I did a sync late last night. So sad that a product has become denigrated because of actions by its own manufacturer. Fitbit make this right and accept responsibility.

It appears that they have updated the android app
VERSION 3.13
Released: January 20, 2020
I have installed on my phone and now watch and phone are syncing. May be the cure! Battery status 94% after 16 hours! But why they removed the wrist twist switch on I cannot understand.
Also why are they not notifying the app updates on here?

My android app keeps wanting to update after the update is completed. Also wont calibrate it fails. Emailed fitbit about issue, they said they would give a percent off the next purchase of another watch.

I don't want a 1% discount of the next purchase.there will be no "next
purchase". The thought that a few pennies would be worth this continued
frustration is ludicrous.I just want to cancel.

I am incredibly frustrated. I have not been able to sync since late yesterday afternoon and now my watch is over a hour off. It is currently 9:57 and my Ionic says it is 8:55. I have made numerous attempts to sync and have shutdown my Ionic and restarted it. That had worked when I was having significant problems syncing a little over a week ago, alas that "trick" is not working this time. I wish I knew why it had been syncing more regularly this past week and now its back to being significantly uncooperative. 😡

I got this update already and a month later I am no longer receiving notifications from my ring app and I am no longer receiving my text messages from my phone
