It was wonderful before 2.0 update. It asked for password the first time I use it, and no longer ask password anymore until I take off the watch. However, after 2.0 update, I meet following issue.
1) At beginning, it just asked password very frequently, maybe every 1 minute. That just made it super inconvenient, e.g., you input password, waiting for checkout, and when it's ready to pay, you need to input password again (and input password multiple times in publish is less security)..
2) Today I just found an even bigger issue, it didn't ask me password anymore, even if I was not wearing the watch. I feel it's a big security issue.
3) It seems that the issue get fixed after I reboot the watch. However, I think that means there's random bug with 2.0, and may happen again any time.

@Mullen Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting this situation with Fitbit Pay and the password. Also, thanks for sharing the workaround that helped you to sort this out for the moment.
Have you experienced this since you performed the restart process?
If you keep experiencing the same you could try disabling the device lock and setting it up once again. You will find this option on your Ionic settings on the Fitbit app.
Keep me posted!

Hi, there was no repro for almost 2 weeks, but it happened again today (no password asked even the watch is already taken off). I'm sure I could get it fixed by restart the device or change the setting again, but what make me really worry about is it may happen any time and this could be a big security issue.
I could provide one more detail. Usually when it works, after long press, I could see the waiting icon for few minutes, then the card or pin pad. However, when it has issue as of now, there is no waiting icon, and the card directly shows up. I also tested today that it not only shown up, but also really works.
I highly suggest Fitbit check any potential code bug that could potentially let the Fitbit pay skip the password verification process.

Have you tried to use it like this to pay for something? I was having the same issues the other day and when I went to use it to pay the transaction did not go through.

It went through this Monday when I noticed the issue. However, as the issue is really random, I would not surprise if it doesn't go through sometime.

For about 2 days now, my ionic has stopped asking me for my password and I have been able to make payments with the watch. Today in the afternoon, it started asking me for the password again and will not accept my password. I am going to install the recent update and if it does not work again I will remove the fitbit pay and then set it up again.
