Fitbit ionic over heating

Please help or offer advice!!

Whilst I was out playing in the paddling pool with my daughter I noticed that my Fitbit had a black screen. Assumed it had lost charge and died without me noticing.
Went to plug it in on charge and took the dog for a walk. I was only gone for an hour. By the time I came back and picked it up it was hot. So hot to touch it actually burned my fingers at first.
there was no charging symbol so I am assuming it is just in the odd confused black screen and needs to be rebooted. I’ve done that before so no issue there. My biggest fear is it was hot enough if it had been on something it could have started a fire. I’m terrified to put it on charge again. What can I do?

Hi @KellyMay,

You got it wet didn't you?

See various other threads including this recent one.

If it was hot enough to burn your fingers then the electronics are cooked. Nothing you can do. Hopefully it's still undere warranty. If not - then your are largely on your own. But, still contact support - for what its worth.
