Fitbit ionic sync/reset problem

Hi! I upgraded from an Alta HR to an Ionic in June and had been overall pleased until recently. I noticed yesterday that the clock started to lose time (about five minutes an hour) and was having problems syncing. Fast forward to today, and the thing won't sync at all. I tried restarting it, doing a hard restart and an actual shutdown, but neither helped it sync. Figuring it couldn't hurt, I tried doing a factory reset, since that seemed like the nuclear option to get it working again, but now it's stuck between a black screen and flashing the fitbit logo. I'm honestly at a loss here. Any suggestions? Or maybe some outreach from the support team? I know technology sometimes fails, but I've had this for less than three months.

You've just described exactly what happened to my Ionic last night.  I woke up late (because the watch had lost about 25 minutes overnight - which has never happened before), tried to sync and the app was unable to find the Ionic.  I tried restarting, then a hard restart and finally a factory reset (as recommended by the moderators on this site).  Now I too am stuck with the screen alternating between black and the fitbit logo.   The watch was working fine until now.  Holding its charge for 5-6 days and is fully charged right now.

Have now tried the factory reset several times, with no changes.  Really frustrating because I love the watch and have really enjoyed having it.

It's really frustrating. Mine won't even go beyond the fitbit logo, so I don't even have the option to try to factory reset a second time. Luckily I have an old Alta HR that doesn't have a functional display but does sync, so in using that for the time being.

So i have been in touch with service and received the same 25% off a new watch that everyone else does whose watch is over 1 year old.

I did ask if this was a common or known issue and was told "This is not a common issue or something associated with the last update".   I guess they have to say that but seems to fly in the face of reports in these forums.
