Fitbit logo on screen after restarting Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Performed the latest update. Now my watch touch screen won't work. So I reset the watch. Now it rotates between logo and watch screen but unresponsive to anything else.

This is after my heart rate, and step counter stopped working prior to the latest update.

Seems like 14 months is their lifespan.

Hi @BBB12, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before posting over here. Since the restart process didn't completely resolve the issue you are experiencing with your Ionic, please follow the next steps to perform a factory reset on your device:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

Let me know if further assistance is needed and if you have any additional questions.

I factory reset the device 3 times. It still will not read steps or heartbeat. And it resets itself constantly, i.e. the logo appears in blue as if it's resetting. Every factory reset ends up the same. This all occurred after the update. About 2 weeks prior to the update the steps and heart rate stopped working. Also, because it resets itself constantly I have to re-enter security code every time I want to access the watch. Which again lasts briefly as it resets again.Terribly frustrated. The watch is 14 months old. It seems from other posts that this is the life span of your watch.- BryceSent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
