Fitbit logo on screen

Was working fine last night.  Woke up this morning to a logo that would stay on for 5-10 seconds, disappear briefly, and reappear.  I tried the usual two-button method, which seemed to have no effect.  I then removed the Ionic from my Fitbit app and tried the three-button factory reset method, which also seemed to have no effect.  The watch continues to briefly display the logo, then blank, then the logo again, etc.

The watch was fully charged as of yesterday afternoon (~14 hours ago).  I did NOT have the most recent firmware update (I had the one prior, I'm pretty sure), and I did NOT tell the app to install it.  This change occurred sometime overnight while I was asleep.

Is my watch now trash?

Hi @Isidorius, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for your post and for trying some troubleshooting steps before to posting over here. To make sure that you tried our factory reset procedure correctly and not our restart process, please check the following steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

I'll be here if you need further assistance. Keep me posted.

Thanks for the response, @RicardoFitbit.

That's the process I tried, after attempting the usual restart process.  The Ionic wasn't really responding in a way consistent with the instructions.  The Fitbit logo appearing/disappearing was happening at regular, slow intervals regardless of what buttons I pushed.  Waiting for it to show the logo, then following the instructions for the reset, never resulted in the device vibrating, ever.  So I couldn't even get that far.

The watch continued to flash the logo intermittently for about another day, but since then the screen has been blank and I'm assuming the battery is fully discharged.  Charging seems to have no visible effect on the battery at this point, so it's unclear what I can even do with the watch now.
