Fitbit protection plan

I set up my new Ionic which I had to buy because my Ionic died. When I set it up it gave me the option to purchase the FPP. I don't have google pay so it wouldn't let me complete the sale. The support knows nothing about it on the phone. I want the protection plan because it seems within 2 years the devices go bad. My surge did which prompted me to purchase the Ionic. It died in less than 2 years so I want the warranty.

Hi @Ghato

Try Square Trade. They sell warranties for fitness trackers and you can buy it directly.

This is there help topic I found discussing the extended warranty:

https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1126

I find it concerning that the maximum warranty is two years, and the built in warranty is only one, as it's pretty telling about what Fitbit has designed the product for. I suspect that it's determined as combination of design life (how long they expect to make them for), failure rates and timeframes, and wanting customers to buy new products. So for $250, they're saying, "we stand by this for a year, and if you pay a little more, two years at most". Not a great message to those paying attention.
