For about a month, my Ionic has inconsistently connected to the satellite during my workouts. When it does connect, it is unstable, often dropping in the middle of my 2-4 mile run. Living in a hilly, not mountainous state, where elevation is ~475 feet, I cannot imagine that a +/- 50-foot difference during my run will be enough to drop reception. The poor connection has negatively affected the recorded data. Please advise.

Hi @vrms, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with this, can you p[lease let me know when was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to restart your Ionic and then check the information that's specified on: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?
Looking forward to your reply.

I've had a similar problem with my Ionic since I installed the latest firmware update. I've had no problems with GPS, even on cloudy days for a good six months - but since the update my ionic has struggled to make or keep a GPS connection.

Greetings Ricardo,
Thank you for responding to my post. Throughout my history with Fitbit, there have been occasions that the GPS has not connected. I can easily understand the occasional drop, but since May 22, the GPS has not connected frequently, almost daily. When it does connect, it seems unstable; dropping at random points during my run or bike ride. I recall that the GPS issue coinciding with the firmware update, but I can't be sure of the timing. I restarted the Ionic in early June (ish) and will do so again.
Please advise. ty.

Greetings Ricardo:
I continue to have inconsistent GPS/satelite connection on my Ionic. I restarted the device and followed the guidelines for improving its reception in the forum that you suggested. This issue is concerning me for a variety of reasons, including getting accurate data for the Heart Study, as well as needing accurate information for virtual races in the next few weeks. Notwithstanding the overall reliability of the Ionic it's self. Do you have any information or directions for me to improve the GPS reception of the device?
