Seems odd that the GPS of your Ionic is not working as designed, can you please let me know which troubleshooting steps you already tried and when was the first time you experienced this situation? If you haven't already done so, please restart your Ionic following the next steps:
I'd like to share with you that Fitbit Ionic has built-in GPS. When you select a GPS exercise, Ionic vibrates when it finds a GPS signal. Environmental factors including tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, and even thick cloud cover can interfere with your watch's ability to connect to GPS satellites.
That said, for best results, wait for Ionic to find the signal before you start your workout. However, if you don't want to wait you can start your workout and GPS tracking begins when Ionic finds a signal.
