General & Wi-Fi Connection

I posted about this in Feb 2020 but I'm still having general connectivity issues with my Ionic and Samsung Galaxy S7. I can turn on my Bluetooth and the information will sync but when I turn on Location I am still experiencing a full sync issue. This morning, I was wanting to run the update for the FitBit (from what I'm reading, hopefully it doesn't brick my watch) and I could not get the Wi-Fi to connect at all.

I was able to restart my phone and then shutdown/restart my Ionic and the app would "see" my Ionic enough to let me try and adjust the Wi-Fi. I tried to connect to my 2.4g Wi Fi channel (won't see my 5g) but it would never connect correctly. I would see an icon on the watch blinking for Wi-Fi and when I went into the About section it would say "Wi-Fi Connecting" and then turn itself off after a few seconds.

Questions: Is 2.4g channel the correct one or can it even see 5g?

Does my phone need to be using the 2.4 channel when trying to sync/connect the Ionic to Wi-Fi?

How can I avoid interfering 2.4 networks?

Why can't Wi-Fi be turned on/off on the watch itself?

I'm currently running the update over Bluetooth - which takes for-freakin-ever - and really want to get the Wi-Fi working for next time.

Yes 2.4 is correct according to your user manual.

As for wi-fi tes you can turn it on and off from the watch. Plug the watch in to Charge and the watch turns on its wifi. The watch, after connecting to the internet, will update the apps and download any music.

Unplug the ionic from its charger and wi-fi gets turned off.
