Why, why on God's green earth is this fitbit ionic not compatible with one of the top flagship phones for this year. I've seen some half **ahem** answers to this question but none that actually fully explain why fitbit has dropped the ball on the compatibility. There has to be plenty of other people out there that agree how stupid this is on fitbits part that still hasn't found a solution to this after 2 months of this phones release.
Hi can you please walk me through the steps of connecting? I transferred my app from my old phone to my pixel 2 xl and the Fitbit charge 2 was not syncing. So I deleted the charge and thought would try to recommend it but the phone is not allowing. Any suggestions?
Best AnswerLet me just say this really sucks. I had syncing issues when I had iPhone too, and it is so inconsistent and frustrating I seriously want to dump my Charge2 in the toilet. What a waste of money. The app has ALWAYS sucked, no matter what platform I'm using. This thing never syncs.

Best AnswerAnother data point. I have Pixel 2 XL and Ionic. Everything sync's fine but I get no notifications.
Best AnswerI was just able to get a notification from my Pixel 2 XL to my Ionic. Previously I had tried to get this to work via the app on my Pixel 2 XL. l went into the notifications area under General and I selected all the items I wanted to get notification from and it didn't work.
I'm more of a fitness watch person than a smart watch person so I really didn't care too much that it didn't work. After posting my previous response it got me thinking and I decided to look a little deeper. I found that, on the watch itself, you can swipe left to right from the home screen and there is a Notification menu. This was set to "Off" and I just switched it to "Receive from phone" and the next time I received an e-mail on my phone I got the notification on the watch. I had this working on my iPhone 6 previously but it was inconsistent at best. Time will tell how consistent it works on the Pixel 2 XL.
Best AnswerJeremy here in Australia with Ionic and Pixel 2.
Sync of steps/sleep data NO PROBS, but NO notifications at all. It did work for 5 minutes one day (I DON'T know what I did), but I have read so many forums and tried so hard!
I wonder if the "new" Android firmware is not yet compatible with FitBit, and that's why Pixel works but Pixel2 doesn't. But I'm just clutching at straws.
FitBit - we just want your product to do what it says on the box!!
Best AnswerJust a quick update. It has been 3 days and the notifications are still working from my Pixel 2 XL.
Best AnswerI am having the same issue with the Flex 2 that I have just been bought for mothers day ... Never thought to check if it would be compatible to a up to date hand set (google pixel 2 xl) I can not receive any notification on my fitbit. Messaged Fitbit support today and they have told me this hand set is not on the list of compatible devices but the list is being updated on a regular basis but couldn't tell me when it will be fully compatible. 😞
Best AnswerI'm really confused why it works for some people but not others.
I have android wear os installed (I needed this to get notifications working on my Pebble I had previously) even though the Pebble wasn't an Andriod Wear watch. For the Pebble, there was no need to go into Wear and configure the watch, the app just needed ot be installed.
I'm wondering if the Fitbit is the same, since I left Wear installed once I bought my Fitbit. Perhaps it's worth installing it? Also, double check on the Fitbit screen notifications is on, I accidentally turned mine off the other day (!)
