Intermittently plays music when running. When I stop and hold ionic close it will play no issues. These headphones do not have issue with pairing with any other device and I used them for sometime with the ionic and only recently started to experience issue

I have the same issue, albeit intermittently. Sometimes the music plays just fine; other times it does not. I wear my watch on my left hand and the receiver for my headphones (Plantonic) is on the right ear.
While running, when my left arm is forward, the music comes through great. However, when my left arm goes back, the music cuts out.
I discovered this several months ago while starting out on a ~7 mile run ... so I had no music for that particular workout.

Mine does this too - it seems like it doesn't make as strong a connection if my watch already paired with my phone. So I shut down my phone, then connect my Ionic to the headphones and I don't seem to have problems. Maybe this is just coincidence...….

Thanks for the tip ... although I never run with my phone on me, I probably have tried to pair up my watch with the headphones while my phone is nearby. I'll give it a shot on tomorrow's run and let you know how that works.

I don’t run with my phone either, but it just seems like if my Ionic “sees” any other Bluetooth devices to possibly pair with, then it doesn’t form as strong connection with my headphones (mine are cheapies off eBay), so I make sure that the headphones and the iconic are the only 2 Bluetooth devices within range of each other. Good luck!
