Is there any option that Fitbit ionic can alert if the heart rate goes at a very high zone or at a set rate during a workout ?

I'm not sure, but if not then it is a very good idea, perhaps you should post the idea on the Feature Suggestions area and maybe they will implement it just do a search first and see if someone else has already suggested it and if so vote for it, if not then post your own.

Hope this helps. See you around!

Sold! You’ve influenced me. I’m moving on to an Apple Watch. I should have done it in the first place so now I’m kicking myself. I’m hoping I can sell my Fitbit on EBay or some other site

Hey there @Catles and @Midlifemomma!
As you might have seen, this Feature Suggestion is still under consideration. We don't have a firm commitment or timeline at the moment. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.
Please note that this Feature Suggestion has been developed by various third party developers, and can be downloaded from the Fitbit App Gallery available on Fitbit Smartwatches. To get more detailed information, see: How do I install and manage apps on my Fitbit watch?
On a side note, Fitbit Ionic does show you progress toward your maximum heart rate on an indicator next to the number of beats per minute, during exercise. You can read more about this in this help article.
If there's any questions present, let me know.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Can any FitBit person provide an idea where features like this sit on their Agile/Scrum product backlog?
Is this something as a developer that I could add, do you know if apps can run in the background once started and have access to the heart rate API to provide this kind of alert info?

@HiDefLoLife Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for your interest as a developer.
I'd recommend checking the Web API Development Board and post your inquiries there. You should get some help there.
Thanks for your participation in the Fitbit forums. Have a great day!

What is the 3rd party app that provides the alerts? And what fitbit models are compatible with these 3rd party apps? i'm looking for a HR monitor watch for a parent with heart concerns so that we can get an alert if the HR goes above a certain level.

I'm not sure FitBit offers a heartrate alert yet - that's why I was interested in developing a 3rd party app.
Let's say that FitBit or the 3rd party app did provide an alert, then you could use IFTTT to send you a message. Apple Watch might already have the ability to recognize a high or irregular heartbeat (they claim to be able to do ECG-like features).

How about adding even a heart rate feature to the child ace models. My daughter was born with heart conditions. She is now 8 and going to have another open heart surgery in a few years. We are to monitor her heart rate regularly and I needed one for her at school for the teachers. Bit the child ace version does not offer this and it was a pain trying to set up the aspire hr for her as it wont allow her info due to her age. This needs to be fixed asap

I am trying to decide whether to buy a fitbit charge 3. Does this feature exist yet? +6000 People have voted for it. This feature is a deciding factor but also I don't want to go in on a product that ignores this type of response when the request is so small.

Sorry to say this but a Garmin band will be better choice rather than voting here
