same exact problem. works after factory reset then quits after about 1 day. Green sensor light works after a hard restart for a while then the light stops strobing. Does not record heart rate after a restart. Only works after a factory reset.

Pretty disappointing.

any help? I'm about ready to ship back to Fitbit HQ.

Just bought fitbit ionic.. Same issue as discussed..heart wont work in any exercise or rest mode. H.r Lights are off when on. battery is currently 27% . Is it a low battery issue where the h.r needs a certain amount of power to work ??

30 seconds later the h.r started working after getting into the running ap... h.r wasnt working in that app but once i exited that app, went back into weights and it magically started working again... theres clearly an issue. Please explain fitbit ???

Glenn,
Ultimately what you have to do is make sure that your Fitbit properly
calibrate. I find that if you take the band's off of The Watch and continue
to force the watch to calibrate (sometimes it takes up to nine times), it
will ultimately get the job done and give you a green check mark. Which
means that the watch has properly calibrated.

taking the watch off once a day usually in the morning around coffee time
to charge the watch is a good idea.

However even after having the heart rate monitor work for six consecutive
days on the 7th evening when I got home it stopped working overnight. I
took it off in the morning banged on the sensors with my fingers, turned
the heart rate monitor on and off about 10 times went back to the main menu
and restarted the phone. Oiula ! It worked again. Sometimes just confusing
the apparatus seems to get it to work again. I do think Fitbit has a glitch
in the ionic that they need to fix. I'm guessing that's why they released
the Versa and also why it looks so remarkably close to the Apple iWatch.
Enjoy your Fitbit ionic but I wouldn't hold your breath for too many
firmware updates. They're putting all their focus on the Versa.

If your continued frustration is a problem simply make a video like they
suggest of your heart rate monitor not working and they will ship you a new
one or offer you 50% off a different model, except for the Versa! Now you
see what I'm talking about! All their eggs are in one basket for Versa!
Good luck!

Have the same issue.  The device stops working while running.  The GPS continues but the workout is sectioned.  You see the part where it worked of the rest of the run.  Got 5.58 miles this morning and it registered 1 mile.  .54 it recorded and the other .46 nothing.  The other section 4.58 miles shows I ran with no heartbeat and this is the second one.  I sent the other back for the same reason.

My Versa 2 Heart rate stopped working too, was offered a discount to purchase a new device but not worth it. Why continue purchasing faulty products
