Hi all. Lately I’ve noticed that on my FitBit app dashboard, my “hours with 250+ steps” is not syncing properly with the information on my Ionic. Usually I get in all my steps, every hour, but the dashboard app has been displaying hours where it says I did not. I know I’m getting all my hourly steps, and my tracker agrees, but the app does not. Is anybody else experiencing this issue? I’ve tried resetting and all the usual stuff, to no avail. Should I just add this to the ever-growing list of things that don’t work as they should with this expensive piece of hardware? Thanks in advance.

So first reported 2018. Last entry 12/2019 with someone still experiencing issue. Now in March 2020 with a Fitbit charge 3 less than a year old is also exhibiting same symptoms that charge 3 days I had 8 out of 8 hours with 250+ steps. App is only showing 7. It skipped one and I have tried almost all the suggestions expect deleting app and reinstalling. Absurd that I always update when it tells me new version available and then this doesn’t work.

I have the same issue. This happens on a too frequent basis. The only thing that helps is to manually synch my app and Fitbit every hour to make sure the hour registers on the app. This is impractical of course. It frustrating they can’t fix this, and makes me suspicious about how reliable other functions are or will prove to be.

I ended up giving up. It was ridiculous and too many issues.
I got an Apple Watch.

Well yes, here we are. April 5, 2020. The bug is still not fixed. I've been experiencing this for a few weeks now. It is intermittent though very frustrating nonetheless. I understand that we are in the midst of a global pandemic. Buuuuut, please fix this bug asap! I see this has been reported for at least a couple of years now.
Thank you!

My FB Versa was a Christmas gift.. Which I couldn’t get until the middle of January due to it being sold out of the stores. I’ve only had this for a little less 90 days. This is not syncing most of the time cutting off my phone or trying to get it to sync to phone works only when it wants.
Now the issue I’m having is it’s not recording my steps accurately I know I’m stepping at least 800-1500 steps per hr. Is this Versa under a recall? Please let me know as I can take this back to the store for about

I'm guessing that the global pandemic has hindered the Fitbit engineers in fixing this bug. Though, it seems that it was reported years ago with no fix. So 🤷:male_sign:

Hi - yes yes yes - I also experience this problem regularly and it is annoying to say the least not to have your efforts recorded

I have tried every recommended fix and nothing seems to stick. Some days all my steps are recorded on the dashboard and some days none are. Very frustrating.

This has been an ongoing issue since the inclusion of this new function. I suspect it is a simple coding error of
if (steps>250) vs if (steps>=250)
It seems the device registers it when you complete the 250, but the server needs a few extra steps to register it. I just got the happy buzz of completing all 250 for the entire day, but the app shows it is incomplete. I am really surprised they have not fixed it in such a long time.
A simple solution is to get 255 steps an hour.

So frustrating. Now August 2021 and I’m still having this problem. Walked 3000 steps in one hour and it still says I haven’t done my 250. Ridiculous.
nothing has helped.

I have used my ionic for several years and this issue of not syncing properly with hourly steps has been intermittent for a long time. I documented it many times with photos from the app and of the tracker. I’ve also done every ‘fix’ suggested in this thread. The only one that worked, and only once, was deleting my ionic from the app, rebooting the ionic, delete and reload the app and then re-add the ionic. As I said, it only worked once. I just add it to the heart rate monitor that is no longer accurate, the sleep monitor that is sporadic at best and the charging port that is even more temperamental than my old Charge tracker. For whatever reason, once the app thinks it has done a refresh for a particular time of day, it disregards any information still on the tracker even when the two are out of sync. I might add the step counter is always in sync but the hourly count is frequently off. Has anyone else notice the app no longer lets one check the recorded number of steps per quarter hour? It was always temperamental to get it to display so it looks like someone decided yo remove the option. If you see an hourly step failure, there will be a gap on this display as well. With that one exception, it is not recoverable.

My Ionic shows a heart rate but it’s always wrong. It is as much as twice as high as it actually is. As I write this my hand taken rate is 72 but my Ionic shows 92. It’s usually closer to twice as high as the actual rate. It used to be accurate but in the last six months or so it has gone whacko. The sleep tracker stopped working almost a year ago. Maybe it’s planned obsolescence🤪
