My ionic started telling me to unlock my Fitbit using my phone. I have never done that before. How does that work? Also it will not sync to the wallet.

I would do a RESTART and do it several times if necessary before trying anything else.

Don't know what "tried this" means.  If you mean restart, then try the other suggestion you received. If you've done both, then try a Factory Reset by swiping left to the Settings app.  Touch that and scroll down to "About" and Touch "Factory Reset".  The tracker will be returned to the way it was when it came from the factory.
