TIA for reading this n00b's post.
Just got the Ionic and I like to swim laps regularly. I have a Garmin 230 and have it set up so that I can manually count laps in the pool. Just tap a button and the lap counter adds a lap. Since I listen to music while I swim, there is NO WAY that I can concentrate on counting laps without messing up, so this feature is vital to me.
Can this same set up happen with the Ionic? If so, could someone post a step-by-step procedure that I can follow?

Under swim settings in the advanced tab of the Fitbit app you can set the pool length which will help calculate the distance swum. As I am yet to to do this myself I'm not sure if it will also list the number of lengths you complete as well or just give a distance value. Either way if you divide your total distance by the pool length it will give you the number of lengths you've done.

Thanks. I'll check that out when I swim next time. Still would be nice if there was a manual button I could press when I complete each lap.

The lap counter works fine as long as you swim continuosly. If you do laps doing kicks, not moving your arms, the ionic does not count these laps.
I swim series of 10 laps and would like to have the posibility of timing these 10 laps with a manual instruction, not relying on the count of the Ionic. Is this posible with the Ionic?
I have not found how to do it.
If someone has an idea, let me know.
