From everything I've read, this is not currently offered as a feature but is 100% doable and completely trivial to offer. Does anyone have a way to do it?
My Fitbit stopped accepting tactile input from the touch screen several months ago - it otherwise functions just fine and I only wear it for GPS tracking my runs, really - so don't even need the touch screen for that.
When I contacted customer service, I was told that I'm out of warranty and I would have to buy a new one - which I'm not interested in doing at this moment, especially considering that it still functions mostly fine.
That said, I read someone suggesting a hard reboot fixed their touchscreen issues - so I tried it several times, only to my dismay that now the brightness setting is all the way down.
According to the forums, the only way to increase brightness is ONLY from the settings app on the watch... Which can only be reached... Via the touch screen.
All I'm looking for is a way to increase it change brightness setting from the Fitbit app instead of the watch.
Does anyone have a workaround to do this?
Dear Fitbit - why wouldn't you add the full settings app capability from the phone?
It's a trivial update for you to make yet important feature to have for lots of reasons

Just as stated in your post, the only way to change the brightness of your Fitbit is by going to the settings of the device, there's no way to change it though the Fitbit app as you suggested, but the best place to make your voice heard is the Ideas board.
