Hi,
How do I enter/input my resting heart rate?
04-21-2018 14:47
04-21-2018 14:47
You can’t. Fitbit tracks it for you.
Hope this clears that up!

Thanks but that just explains what the 'Resting Heart Rate' is it doesn't explain how I get it to show up on my Fitbit?
04-22-2018 23:34
04-22-2018 23:34
So how does Fitbit do it, as it hasn't listed it yet and I have been wearing the watch for 4 days now.
And that before I get to the 'how does it know when to take the 'Resting Heart Beat' as I would suggest Fitbit doesn't know when my rate is resting or just standard/low etc.

It should show automatically - there's nothing to turn on. Is it that it's not showing on your watch or dashboard or that the number is wrong?

It is not showing anywhere...
Apparantly in a separate question, I might have to remove my ionic and replace it on my account, that might solve some form of sync issue I am having... that is there is no syncing.
It's bad enough that I can only use the account on my phone, the MAC app doesn't support the Ionic...I am begining to think I bought the wrong tech.

It's beginning to sound like your fitbit is not connected to your account. Am I right in thinking that your data is not showing on your dashboard at www.fitbit.com ?
I would try reconnecting it to your account. On the fitbit app on your phone go into the account section (it looks like a business card) and select "set up a device".

@Wood1eWelcome to the Forums.... As Steve has posted it appears your Ionic isn't linked to your Account... When you link through the phone and complete that it will appear on your Mac Dashboard as well..
But the BIG but.... If your Ionic hasn't been connected to your phone it may go through an update process so if you have Wi-Fi setup on the phone it will be easier because the update seems to take from 30 minutes to some hours.. I say that because my initial update took 29 minutes and a 2nd Ionic took nearly 4 hours on the same network and the same time at night...
But we are here, Steve in the UK, early morning, me in Australia late afternoon

@Wood1eIf you haven't located the manual here is the link
When you tap on the link you will need to tap the manual link and that will download a PDF file..

mmm As far as I was concerned it was linked to my account.
I have just removed the Fitbit device I had on my phone and will re-link it.

04-23-2018 00:18
ok I have connected it
See here: https://screencast.com/t/1gPhpBlwkB and here: https://screencast.com/t/1gPhpBlwkB
all seems a little strange, still no historic heart rate I presume that is because I removed and re-connected?
For the resting heart rate we will have to see tomorrow morning.
And even more exciting having only just put it on, I have completed 2247 steps this morning!! And even more amazing 5472 steps yesterday...when I never even wore it.

@Wood1e Whether this applies to you I'm not sure because I'm not in the Apple world but when I was having similar issues I tried my Wife's iPad and a Windows 10 computer. After I got it to work I couldn't get the Ionic to sync even though was on my account. Problem was that the Ionic was paired to multiple Bluetooth devices. Unpaired those and the Android worked.

@Wood1e RHR is affected by your sleep cycle and Fitbit stress that this improves the result. But you should see it on your Ionic when you swipe up from the clock screen and when you see it, swiping left will show the last few days as a vertical barchart.
You should have a tile on your Phone App and Mac Dashboard.

On Watch...I swipe up and get along with a few other elements
a) Good Morning and some message
b) Swipe down again - 2247 steps plus if I sweep left/right (Never sure what is is) I get location and steps, then something else which is on 77 and 0 lightening bolt
b) Activity 0 of 9
c) 85 bpm ( fat burn) - not sure how that is fat burn
showing a 60 resting... so that is new 🙂
d) A workout I mistakingly started on Friday
But no bar chart showing daily/hourly heart rate.
On Phone - Sony Xperia
When I tap on HEart Rate, I get a blank screen with 'No measurements' see here: https://screencast.com/t/gWlhC38Oj
On MAC: not possible as software hasn't been developed: https://screencast.com/t/iwsSaFHsnB but tht is ok as I can login to Fitbit
Login to Fitbit: https://screencast.com/t/V4hwn22B
Maybe I am just looking in the wrong place to see a bar chart of my heart rate.?

@Wood1eYou are on track.. The joined imaged below show you what to expect....
1.. Tap the RHR, shows your 30 days of RHR...
2... tap today's graph below that . The gap in my graph was a 90 minute Ionic charge.
The Lightning bolt is your Active minutes.. ie at least 10 continuous minutes over 3 times your BMR.
My Sony Xperia works perfectly for me...

04-23-2018 01:25
No, I don't get any of that.
I click on 'Heart Rate' on my phone and I get the 'No Measurements' screen I showed previously. From that screen there is only an option to go back.
And on fitbit.com there is no heart rate recorded at all, in my dashboard. See here: https://screencast.com/t/bjhRGwRwM

@Wood1eYour HR Zones are explained in this link ie, 220-age = Max HR, and then %'s of that...
and it's important you have your physical details correct because at least 50% of your daily calorie burn is your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and that calculation is vital.. to understand the other ramifications like Active Minutes....
I'm still around for another 4 hours if you wish to continue the dialogue.. I'm well retired..

04-23-2018 01:30
hi,
Thanks but I think you misunderstand.
On my Fitbit/phone and dashboard, there is no recording of historical heart rates. I am not interested at the moment with 'HR Zones' I just want the Heart Rate recorded...so I can track what my heart rate is.
Then I can see when I was in and when I was not in a specific zone or not.
am on the phone to fitbit now, as they must know why it doesn't show.

@Wood1eWhat I showed in the last post was what you will be seeing... and it's vital to wear the device while you are asleep to hasten that calculation.. S. hopefully the message you are getting is correct because the Fitbit algorithms (we don't know what they are) need some time to collate.
This image below show you how close the RHR is to my average sleeping BPM. The graph also included how the RHR and sleep rate shows your body's reaction to sickness, injury, and medicines..
The kick at the end was my Strep thought a week ago and shows the Antibiotic affect...I'm ok now.. That sleeping spike I felt my body in slight shock that night...Phew....
