IP address banned by Fitbit

I live in Iran. I have fitbit ionic for 2 years, but it's been a few months I can't sync it with my phone because fitbit has banned iranian ips.

It's not fair. I paid so much and there are thousands of Iranians who have fitbit watches but now those watches worth nothing....

This problem still remains unresolved!

Probably it's due to the US sanctions against Iran, but I really don't understand the logic behind your company policy. We are normal people, doing regular activities like your other customers ... Also, shouldn't be there a uniform regulation among tech companies regarding to the sanctions? While my friends are happily using their smart watches produced by other US companies like Apple and Garmin, most unfortunately we have to deal with self imposed sanctions by Fitbit against its customers. Wouldn't you switch to other devices if you were in my place?

Thank you for your response. Yes this problem persists and it's been months. I can't log in with fitbit app, therefore I can't sync it with my watch. like you said it's an ip problem. The United States has banned iranian ips because of the sanctions. I'm so disappointed. I'm not wearing my ionic anymore and I can't do anything about it...

Hi,

Fitbit is a company which is related to people's health.  International politics shouldn't affect your mission statement.

Disconnecting Iranian people from your server (by any reason )after selling your product is not fair.

If your Iranian customers knew about this issue they never bought your products.

Would you please let us know if you would or could solve this issue or this problem is not your concern .

It's very stupid that we can't set time by manually entering it!!!

The only way to fix this is to:

- Use a VPN

- Open the Fitbit app

- Go to Account > App Settings

- Turn off Automatic Timezone

- Set timezone to Kabul which has the same timezone as Iran/Tehran.
