The music feature on the Ionic is something I'm really enjoying. Downloading Pandora stations seemed a little hit and miss. They would all download eventually, but of course never when I was in a hurry. 😕
From the basic troubleshooting I could do, it seemed like the WiFi connection would drop occasionally, which would stop the download. Pandora stations take about 15 minutes apiece to download.
I tried something a little different, and am hoping someone else can try this and verify if this workaround is really working. What I did was disconnect my computer from WiFi and hooked it up to an ethernet (wired) connection on the same router.
So the Ionic is connected to WiFi, and the computer is connected to Ethernet-1. What I found is that Pandora stations are downloading much smoother with the computer on wired than Wifi. I'm tempted to think that my computer and the Ionic on the same Wifi was causing some interruption, and that separating them improved. But I'd need others to test to see if that's truly the case.
Note: The Personal Music download of playlists requires the computer to be on the same WiFi network as the Ionic. So if you try using a wired connection, Personal Music won't work until you switch the computer back to WiFi. But since I download Personal Music to the Ionic once every few weeks, and Pandora almost every day, it's a good trade off for me.
Sorry about all the tech jargon, but there wasn't an easier way to describe the process.
