My Ionic frequently reads a higher heart rate (sometimes as much as 30 bpm) when I'm exercising notably on a treadmill. I have tried moving the watch on my wrist and/or loosening/tightening the strap but nothing seems to cure the problem.
I have used other Fitbit models with HR monitors and haven't experienced the same problem.
I reported this to Fitbit support on Twitter last month and they said it was a "known issue and our site team are working on it". I haven't heard anything since then.
Is anyone else having this problem? I use my Fitbit specifically to monitor my HR during exercise so this is becoming a big problem for me.

All you can do is wait and hope it will be fixed in the near future. I'm using other brand now for the same reason, waiting for Fitbit to finally fix all the bugs in the Ionic.

I got my ionic from replacement due to back key didnot work. And then it happens to get higher BPM than normal. I tried to check on apple watch and my BOM was 72 but when I tried on ionic showed 103. I dont know how dare send me the item which is defective one.

I'm having the same problem with an inflated heart rate. I bought the Ionic due to it's reputation regarding heart rate accuracy, but now it seems like a bad decision. I also sometimes can't scroll through notifications. Anxious for the next version.
