Inconveniences with apps and clock faces

Before I decide on if this was a worthy purchase or not, Im curious about when we can expect some updates that fix the syncing and having to reset the device to get the weather working etc.

 

It looks like the Ionic has had syncing, app as well as clock face issues as far back as 2017.

I just got mine and have still experienced things like:

*Fitbit Weather app not syncing or showing info most of the time on a daily basis.

*Fitbit's Clock faces not updating settings for colors or images.

Fitbit's News app doesn't sync

Fitbit's Leaderboard doesn't sync

Flipboard doesn't sync

Yelp doesn't sync.

I know some of these* I can get working by a reset of both devices, but having to do that a couple times a day or whenever I need to change colors is a little annoying especially if this has been going on for over a year.

It's great to see you around @Ebojager! I appreciate the details that you've mentioned as well for the troubleshoot that you've performed. Sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your Ionic.

 

I would like to provide troubleshooting for each issue you're having and see if this can be fixed. 

 

Weather app: Please make sure that you've set up this app correctly and double check that you've done the syncing steps. Also, leave Fitbit app running in the background of your phone. 

 

Clock faces: The clock faces should be updating its settings correctly, if you're experiencing any specific issue with any clock face from Fitbit, let me know. If it's not from Fitbit, you need to contact the creator of it, learn more about it by checking this article What is Fitbit Labs?

 

Fitbit News  and Yelp will update as soon as your Ionic is always syncing to your app. What kind of issue are you seeing with this app? 

 

Fitbit leaderboard will update with the information from your friends and yours will update once your watch syncs to your Dashboard.

Thank you...Ive done all I can for the app, seems it will work if I go into weather settings and change from Celsius to Fahrenheit and wait for the location icon to appear, then back to previous screen and it will show up. So knowing this at least allows me a partial days worth of weather. Occasionally it will get stuck but if I check later it will have updated. Seems though once a day it will stop and I have to go back into the app again and toggle the Celsius to Fahrenheit again, even when I have left the app running and also have always allow fitbit running in background in Windows settings. Its almost like the fitbit weather might need its own permission in Windows Mobile or the fitbit app is not letting the weather app through, I don't know im not a programmer 😞

Yes it is a Fitbit clock face STATS. It seem to get stuck when trying to change colors too quickly then wont change back with out reinstalling the clock face. Ive just now noticed that you need to wait on the color selection screen until the color changes before backing out of that screen, otherwise it doesn't change and then if your impatient and expect it to have changed and go back and hit another color it kinda gets stuck. Maybe until you fix it you could add a line of text that says "please wait" then after 10 seconds make it go away 🙂 That's about how long it takes. These are the little things that add to the confusion of the watch and apps.

They just keep saying go back to the app and sync. but nothing ever shows up. Maybe this too needs some sort of instructions ?? I know my way around computers and devices but the Fitbit software doesn't seem very intuitive atleast when syncing and setting up apps. I mean its not behaving as expected in my opinion.

This too says what the Yelp and Flipboard say also go back and sync. I dont have any friends yet, so maybe thats why????

 

Thanks again for offering to help with these issues. Im almost ready to accept them for what they are, but if you can offer any assitance or even explanations that would be even better.

I also noticed that many of the clocks were pulled and. Many are now paid so without payments to only have access to basic clocks. It's feels like a money grab in my opinion.  This is the 5th clock face I'm using   now.

Regarding the weather app not updating, I appreciate that you've mentioned the steps that you had to perform in order to this updated. Fitbit is aware of it, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future. We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products.

 

In regards to the clock face called stats, a message that can let users know that it's going to take some seconds to change the colors would be great. I would like you to post your idea on our Feature Suggestion board, those are reviewed by our team and other users can vote for them. 

 

I totally understand your comments about the apps not updating and the steps that you need to perform in order to fix it. Your feedback helps us to continue improving and providing you with clearer instructions. 

 

This too says what the Yelp and Flipboard say also go back and sync. I dont have any friends yet, so maybe thats why? On your previous message you mentioned Leadboard and that's why I said that this should update based on your friend's syncs and yours. However, Flipboard and Yelp refers to a news app, so this will update once it syncs to your app.
